Component Configuration: On Stage

On-Stage is a webinar.net first feature that allows webinar audience members to cue up and be brought "on stage" to ask questions live via audio and/or webcam. When "on stage", they can be seen and heard by the webinar presenters as well as the webinar audience. Organizers can move the participant back to the attendee view once the segment is over.

Within Interface Builder, add the On Stage component to your Interface.

Select the Customize tab to configure On Stage.

• Only producers can manage requests to go on the air: When the Producer Role is enabled, only producers can bring an attendee on and off stage. When the Producer Role is disabled, both producers and presents have the ability to bring attendees on and off stage.
• On Stage Description to Audience: Short description to help instruct attendees on how to request On Stage access.
• On Stage Button Label: This allows for flexibility within the button to request On Stage access.

As the webinar starts, the audience can start to request On Stage access. If the On Stage component is not open, there is an indicator to remind you.

Note. If the Producer Role is enabled, only the Producers will see the On Stage component.

Presenters and Producers can approve or deny On Stage access within the Audience On Stage window. 

The attendees On Stage will not be allowed to mute or unmute their audio or video, only presenters and producers have that ability. If you need to communicate with the attendee at any time, click on their profile card to start a conversation.

If the attendee is being distributive, within the attendee's profile card, click on the red icon on the left corner to remove the attendee from the webinar. 

Below is an example of the attendees' view when they have been approved and brought On Stage. 

Note. The Media Player is paused for the attendee brought On Stage. 

Warning. Be aware that for every communication over the internet there is a delay between the emitter (Presenter) and the receiver (Attendee). This may disrupt the flow of a presentation.

Once an attendee has been disconnected from On Stage, they are welcome to request On Stage access again but will need to go through the approval process each time.

The number of allowed On Stage attendees is set at the account level. Reach out to support@webinar.net should you feel the need to increase the default number of attendees On Stage.
